Description:
The Hévíz medicinal lake originated 200 million years ago, in the middle ages of geohistory. The written name for Héviz was mentioned for the first time in a document of 1328. The first bathing house was built in 1795, which created the foundations for utilising the lake as a spa. The State Spa Hospital was founded in 1952. The special medical remedy of Lake Héviz is provided by the fact that the lake bed is covered by a layer of medicinal mud of several metres, which due to its radium content has special medical value.The wells provide the necessary water for bathing and treatment in the winter baths of the State Spa Hospital. The winter baths have been open for patients since 1968. Treatment is available for both hospital patients and out-patients. Due to its composition the thermal water is not recommended for everyone, therefore guests may visit the surgery in the winter baths, where the necessary tests are done and advice given. |

The bath of Eger, called Carthausian Bath, was first mentioned in 1448. The Turkish Bath of Eger was built between 1610 and 1617 under the Turkish occupation for ritual and washing purposes. Architecturally it resembles the Turkish times, but medically it is equipped with the latest equipment. The medical effect of the bath is owed to the special radioactive water from two wells. The wonderful baroque town centre of Eger, the vicinity of the Mátra and Bükk Mountains and the world-famous wines of Eger all mean an exciting time spent here. |

The beautiful park is situated by the Eger creek, only a few hundred metres away from the town centre and the castle in a healing climate.
